It has been a chilly Winter in Melbourne right now, or so I’ve been recurrently told and days go by with warmth and style (as always) first in mind. Collaborating with a new member to the Australian fashion scene, Order of Style is an online boutique that has a curated selection of designer pieces; a soon go-to for a chic new outfit, and outfit inspiration. With brands like Camilla and Marc, American Vintage, MIH jeans, IRO, Nicholas and Equipment to name a few (have a look at the full list of designers here), I’ve created an outfit from Order of Style for the perfect, Winter wardrobe.
In the likes of sartorial satisfaction, a coat is undeniably the essential wardrobe piece to take you from day to night. It’s an easy throw on piece when you don’t want to think too much of what to wear underneath, and there are endless lengths, colours, silhouettes and in this case, patterns to choose from. I usually go for a classic black wool coat, but I was drawn to this coat for the stylish checked print and comfortable, oversized fit. As the colour palette is a muted khaki, it is perfect to be worn all throughout the cold month, being subtle enough to wear over and over again. For a more structured look, I’m also loving this grey, herringbone coat.
Jeans are definitely a wardrobe staple all year round, but in Winter more people will be reaching for their favourite pair of black jeans than other months and a good way to update that option is by choosing a fun hem. With a statement coat like this one by American Vintage, I’ve gone for these jeans by Mother Denim. It has a raw cut, slit hem, which is not only super flattering against the long length of the coat, but it also looks great with heels if you’re not like me, forever living in a cozy cafe. I mean, what’s better on a cold Winter’s day?
