BURGUNDY

WEARING: GRANA Oxford Shirt + Silk Ankle Trousers | GIVENCHY medium Antigona | SENSO Niala III heels

With Christmas in exactly 1 months time, this pop of burgundy is preparing us for the inevitable bright reds and greens that will infiltrate shopping centres and whatnot in the next few weeks. With a stretchy waistband, these trousers are high up on my possible Christmas lunch outfits- I mean comfort + colour relevance definitely makes it the most relevant option yet.

BLACK SLIP DRESS

WEARING: BC THE LABEL dress | MON PURSE clutch | CONVERSE sneakers | PARED sunglasses

Following on from my earlier post on the white slip dress, this outfit is all about the classic black slip dress. With the party in the back and a not-to-high slit on the side, this dress is subtly understated and perfect for those many christmas parties to come- lots of room for food and ideal for messy eaters who have a tendency to spill sauces/ drinks on themselves (*raises hand*).

STAKES DAY 2016

After a long (and definitely stressful) week of the Spring Racing, I'm glad to say that it's over for another year. The week ended off with Stakes Day and I was lucky enough to partner up with Hilton Hotels (South Wharf) to experience the day for the first time. A definitely more relaxed vibe when compared to Cup Day, Emirates Stakes Day is one where the parents can bring the kids, and a lot of younger faces are seen around Flemington dressed in their best.

Thank you Hilton hotels for having me attend Stakes day this year! Here's to next year

WARDROBE ESSENTIALS: THE MOM JEAN

In every good wardrobe are a pair of well fitting jeans and timeless silk cami top that can be worn from day to night. My jean collection is comparable to my extensive black trouser collection, but finding a pair of jeans that fit you well is SO much more difficult. Where to begin- skinny fit, mom jean, boyfriend jean, straight cut, boot cut, high waisted, mid rise, low rise, flared, light wash, ripped.. the list goes on.

I used to love boyfriend jeans purely for the comfort sake, but realised that for my particular body shape it didn't accentuate anything, rather made me look shapeless, which is why the 'mom jean' style is my current denim staple. High waisted, not too tight on the leg, but just the right amount of looseness to flatter your shape- I wear it with boots, sneakers, heels, loafers you name it. If you haven't invested in a pair for yourself, definitely try on a pair to see if the style is for you.
