December is a busy, busy month in terms of organising and attending events/ hosting parties and with my birthday and Christmas in the space of a couple weeks, I'm usually running around like a headless chook this time of year. To help me sort some of my outfits, I've partnered up with Marks & Spencer and chose some of my favourite pieces from their collection and browsing on their website, it was hard to narrow it down to just one specific look.
This simple satin shift dress is an easy piece to throw on and the loose fit of it makes it perfect for a Christmas food baby. With ruffles on the sleeves, it makes the dress that little bit dressier and party appropriate (and who can ever say no to ruffles?). Whilst I don't really wear coloured shoes, I opted for these burgundy boots, because if you haven't seen on my Instagram already, I'm obsessed with burgundy and subtle pops of colour like this navy dress. Heels are usually a given during Christmas/New Year parties and it’s what most people seem to go for, but in my case, comfort is key which is why boots > stilettos. Besides, a few glasses (or bottles) of bubbles and wine later, a thin heel isn’t quite the most stable of shoes.
I often forget how close New Year’s comes around after Christmas- before you know it, it’s 2017. Like many, shopping might not be the top priority after rushing around packed shopping centers before Christmas and aside from the craze of boxing day (equivalent of Black Friday if you’re from the other side of the world) finding ANOTHER outfit for the NYE countdown, LESS the green and reds is a challenge in itself. Dresses like these will be my go-to for that last minute new year’s party invitation.
I hope you all enjoy your Christmas festivities!
